Intron Technology’s Subsidiary G-Pulse Invited to E/ETec 2023 Conference Explores Reforms and Intelligent Development of New-generation Electronic/Electrical Architecture

 Date:2023-10-16

(16 October 2023, Hong Kong) – Shanghai G-Pulse Electronics Technology Company Limited (“G-Pulse”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Intron Technology Holdings Limited ("Intron Technology" or the "Group"; HKEX: 1760), a leading automotive electronics solutions provider in China, was invited to attend the Next-Gen Intelligent Vehicle Electronic/Electrical Architecture Conference 2023. Representative of the company also delivered a keynote speech on the "Regional Evolution and Implementation of the New Generation Electronic/Electrical Ring Network Architecture” at the conference.

The conference revolved around the analysis and discussion of key technologies, industrial synergies, ecology development and future trends of the new generation of electronic/electrical (E/E) architecture. It brought together automotive makers, including FAW-Volkswagen, SAIC-Volkswagen, BYD Auto, Great Wall Motors, GAC Aian, Geely Auto, Chery Jaguar Land Rover, NIO, XPeng Motors and Li Auto, as well as representatives from BorgWarner, Bosch, Schaeffler, Infineon, Aptiv, Huawei, Baidu, Z-One Technology, ReachAuto, and NOVOSENSE Microelectronics.

Wang Pengwei, Senior System Manager of Intron Technology, delivered a keynote speech at the conference. He mentioned that under the transform of "functional vehicles" to "intelligent vehicles", communication architecture, network architecture and power supply architecture are becoming core structures. The electronic/electrical architecture of the automotive industry is facing comprehensive reforms, which is currently at the stage of cross-domain and zonal integration, and will eventually evolve into centralized integration. Traditional ECU controllers will be replaced by new types of intelligent controllers.

As a leading automotive electronics solutions provider in China, the Group has a strong R&D team and technological innovation capability and has always maintained an industry-leading level in terms of electrical/electronic architecture and software development capabilities. Based on the integration path of E/E architecture, Intron Technology focuses on the architecture research of cross-domain integration, zonal integration and centralized integration. At the conference, Wang introduced the portfolio of zonal (front, rear, left, and right) control unit solutions based on the Enhanced mobiles Broadband Ring Network architecture under the centralized architecture.

Defined by the physical locations, the main functions of vehicle control are integrated into the neighboring corresponding domain controllers, integrating functions such as primary and secondary power distribution, bodywork, air conditioning, VCU, and chassis, including seat adjustment control, door lock drive, power tailgate adjustment, window adjustment, monitor system adjustment, wiper control, water pump drive, air suspension adjustment, LF drive, VCU, EPB caliper control and other functions.

Wang also pointed out that the zonal controller, as a complex system, while brings the advantages of centralization, also comes with intricate implements. For instance, under cross-domain subsystem integration, with different subsystem software suppliers,  the development processes, compilation environments and toolchains varies, which makes integration complicated. In terms of hardware integration, the requirements under the E/E development path are diverse, coupled with intense cost-effective requirements, hardware array is diverse and complex. As for software applications, the initial deployment based on the SOA concept for the whole life cycle requires heavy workload.

By addressing the industry’s pain points, Intron Technology has provided leading solutions. In terms of hardware integration, Intron Technology has built an expansive technology platform, where it can base on modular hardware for varied combination to meet different EEA requirements, covering different solutions from entry level to high-end, to achieve the optimal cost solution. In terms of software development, Intron Technology has built a multi-product software platform defined by services that uses DDS deployment solutions and generalized atomic services to ensure customers have quick access to software applications. In addition, Intron Technology has pioneered a virtualized software solution that utilizes Hypervisor to realize software integration under different development environments, accelerating the iterative computing of customer car platforms.

"With the new zonal control platform developed based on the IFX AURIX TM TC4 series, Intron Technology's four-zone controller and central computing unit can form a 2.5G ETH ring network, providing strong computing power and interface resources. In addition, the high-bandwidth ethernet serves as the backbone, facilitating abundant transmission capacity. Within the ring network, the controller can fully meet the requirements of high-end automated driving in terms of computing power, functional safety, vehicle power redundancy and communication safety", Wang Pengwei emphasized.

With the transformation of the functional domain control architecture to a centralized architecture, Intron Technology has maintained its adherence to "open collaboration, integration and mutual development", and will continue to open up its core capabilities and technology service platforms, and collaborate with more ecosystem partners in the industry to promote the greater implementation of frontier technologies and applications that facilitate a software-defined automotive transformation and accelerate the progress of intelligent development of China’s automotive industry.
